Fun, Family Activities in the Jackson Hole Area
My family recently vacationed in Jackson Hole for a week and had a great time! With 11 of us total, we worked out a schedule of activities that were fun for everyone, especially the kids. My nieces are 6 and 9 years old in addition to a 9 month old. My first thought was to hit the Alpine slide. Located at the Snow King Resort, the slide has two sides, a slow side and a fast side. Both wind down 2,500 feet of hillside spotted with trees and wildflowers. The kids loved it as did the adults. Tickets are less expensive after 4:00 pm which makes it a great afternoon event.
After that, we went down the street to Amazin’ Jackson Hole. Located at 85 Snow King Ave., Amazin’ Jackson Hole is also a great spot for kids, where they race against the clock to find different letters before time runs out. The fun filled labyrinth is easy to get to and easy on the wallet.
The next day the family went to Teton Village, where everyone rode the Bridger Gondola up to 9,095 feet at the base of the Headwall to take in the views. Once back down the kids tried out the Jackson Hole Bungee Trampoline where they could jump up to 24 feet in the air (this was their favorite activity of the week!). They also took turns on the 25 foot, free standing rock climbing wall, located at the base of the clock tower. A big day was had by all.
Next, the family loaded up with a picnic in tow and headed to Sting Lake in Grand Teton National Park. The lake has a small beach area and is typically the warmest body of water in the park and therefore the best for swimming. Don’t be fooled, however, the water is still chilly even in the heat of summer. The parking lot and picnic areas are close by for easy access.
These are truly just a few of the many family friendly activities available when you come to visit Jackson Hole.
